“The two greatest stores of wealth internationally today is contemporary art and apartments in Manhattan, Vancouver, and London.”

The statement is so ludicrous that it’s almost nonsensical. In 6 years the stock market went from 18000 to 35000, and experienced a full scale fall and recovery midstream, Bitcoin went from $800 to $61000, WTF did Tesla do with all those splits, how about Amazon or Google, Shopify?

Contemporary art? If one billionaire wants to buy it from another billionaire – whatevs.

I think he wrote the keynote on a napkin, what unfolded next was reported in relation to his comment. In actuality, the North America economy crumbled and China took over in every segment. Let’s see if they want that Jeff Koons at full retail or is there another more interesting artist on their horizon.

The author just took a complex topic that only people with finance degrees understand and broke it down is very clear and easy to follow terms for everyday people. For Free. And you are crying that he used an F-bom to emphasize the seriousness of the issue? Go back to watching Saturday morning cartoons.

CORE is following the same dynamic of working in mid-sized cities. With the pandemic, people fled Toronto and looked for a green patch in the suburbs. Meanwhile, condos are still getting built in Toronto.

Bruce, I think you’re more upset with the message than you are with the “F bombs”. The author has just described the consequences of the central banks artificially suppressing interest rates AND the amount of cheap money sloshing around, and you’re upset over an “F” word? Talk about a “weak mind”!

I say it’s about time people started showing their anger. The Federal Reserve has a mandate to provide “stable prices”. It does NOT have a mandate to suppress interest rates, thereby forcing asset prices up.

These people should be behind bars.

Lifetime writer and teacher here. Agreed 100%. Language is used in different ways for emphasis and while an overuse of it can represent a poor vocabulary, clearly this is not the case here and it is used effectively for emphasis (I know they had the proper effect on me when reading them.)

Not familiar with this site, but from the about page they say the emphasis is on writing to the same audience as Hunter S Thompson, and Hemmingway. Both journalists became very well respected, BECAUSE of their use of profanity.

Imagine saying Hunter S Thompson and Hemmingway were weak minds, trying to express themselves forcefully. What do you do for a living Bruce, that you’re the expert on communications?

LOLOLOL. Go read the CBC, Boomer. I’m sure they’ll write the same stuff in 6 weeks, with those harsh words that got your panties in a knot. Such delicate snowflakes your generation.
