@Ellyn: Bank of Canada won’t raise interest rates before the US Federal Reserve does, otherwise Canadian currency will take a hit. But the Bank of Canada, like the Fed, should have started raising interest rates years ago. Cheap money (along with speculators, immigration, FOMO, panic buying, magical thinking, and widespread money laundering (particularly in Toronto & Vancouver) have all contributed the Canada’s enormous and growing real estate bubble.

Weaker loonie and higher commodities are going to create more inflation. Everything, even commodities sourced in Canada, are priced in USD.
