The opposite is also true. We encourage people to apply even if they don’t have the skillset.

I got my job the same way. Didn’t totally fit the experience bill, but they took a chance. If you’re not finding a gig that fits your skillset, apply anyway and explain in your cover letter why you’re the right fit. You’d be suprised how far that can go.

If you are missing one thing, they will not hire you. Same for less then 5 years experience or too much experience (aka: age), or people in their 30’s usually have a lot of personal issues (pregnancy, children, divorce, sick parents). Employers only want machines.
