Lol ) condos are way more overpriced than the detached houses. What is gonna happen to the rents when interest rate reaches above 2 -3 percent above the current prices ? You think the condo prices contunie to go up to match the cost of morgage ? I predict that we will see huge volatility (50% or more) in condo prices in next 3-4 years..

Are you serious? Like they didn’t “interfere” on the way up with 0 down 40 year, or tax credits to buy, tax free gains, BC’s first time $37k five year free money give away last year to buy real estate… I could go on but you are writing about government interference. They have done it to goose real estate the last 14 years.

Do you think prices would be this high if rates were not dropped to virtually zero, free money given away by banks (backed by CMHC or tax payers) and countless other measure were not introduced.

I guess in your eyes 600k is nothing and very affordable. Must be nice. Go outside Canada and see what that would buy you. Not a 1 bedroom box in the sky that’s for sure.

This is my problem with Canada. We have so much space, but we fail to make opportunity across the country. Now there’s two cities in the whole country everyone is crowding around, in order to be around the few really rich innovative companies making decent jobs.

True, I considered waiting since I’m getting close to the end of my lease. Doesn’t make sense to pay the rent being asked right now when mortgages are this low. Basically the same, only difference is if you have downpayment.
