I remember when I thought 8% was a fantastic rate…. I refinanced one of my mortgages in Oct 5yrs under 2%, insane..

Even the common tax payer knew this was a totally wrong approach which served to rise the cost of homes to ridiculously high price levels. While I have no pity for the investor type buyers, I truly feel sorry for those buyers who were simply too naive and consequently will have to pay a very deep price for it…

Their attempt to exit the market will be futile. Fear and greed control the markets. Market are inherently human. They often consume in excess because capital gains are addictive. When fear takes hold we will be in for quite the show. People over levered in the market are in denial of this truth. It happens over and over again.

Everything happening today is exactly how Dirk Bezemer and John Galbraith described in their articles and books.

Here’s a shocker all those who ran out buying bigger homes and moving further out thinking they’ll forever be working from home. Guess what they’re calling many of you back to the office.

The pandemic acted has a catalyst of realization for a lot of people while they had more time at home (with less work also good time to sort move) lots realize these needs and acted towards a better life balance.

How many people got swept up in the fever and got multiple risky 1 year mortgages from private lenders and will be squeezed hard as rates climb? Will there be a surge of these people all trying to liquidate at once?
