229 Douglas Drive was built in 1919, but was recently gutted by the extremely talented Bruce Studio Architects. This was no easy task considering the restrictions they had to deal with regarding this “C” rated heritage home. It’s currently listed with Helen Braithwaite (the agent for heritage properties), with an asking price $6,250,000.

This place was listed in November 2013 at $3,285,000, which implies an 89% appreciation in just over two years. The newly renovated space has an open concept floor plan, marble clad backsplash, spa bathrooms, 5 Fujitsu air purifiers, and 2 laundry rooms, – but the killer feature is the master suite – which surprises even me since I’m in love with that kitchen.
I know what you’re thinking, they can’t have renovated that much, right? Since we’re all about informed opinions at Better Dwelling, we’ve included a gallery below the new photos from the 2013 listing. Feel free to let us know in the comments what you think.
I love everything about this place.
This is my favorite place….ever. That kitchen!
That’s a seriously nice kitchen, and I don’t even cook.
This is WAY nicer than those gaudy mansions everyone loves.

I was born at that house in 1948!! I sure hope the big tree on the boulevard still exists…my father planted it.
